TOMS RIVER, NJ – October 9, 2020 – David Richter, the Republican nominee for Congress in New Jersey’s Third District, announced today that he has received the endorsement of former Congressman Jon Runyan, who represented the Third District from 2011 to 2015.
Runyan, who was an offensive lineman in the National Football League for 14 seasons, including nine seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, is currently the NFL’s Vice President of Policy and Rules Administration.
“As a Burlington County native, David understands the needs of the Third District and he is working hard to earn the trust and confidence of the voters,” said Runyan. “I know that he will do an outstanding job as our congressman. He has my full support and endorsement,” Runyan added.
“I just want to thank Jon for his support,” said Richter. “As a former congressman for this district, Jon knows what the citizens of the Third District need in a congressional representative and his endorsement of my campaign speaks volumes about the importance of winning back this seat,” Richter added.
Richter is the former CEO of global construction management firm Hill International. During his time at the company, Hill grew from a struggling family business with less than 300 employees into a successful public company with more than 4,300 employees. A lifelong Republican, Richter grew up in and has spent most of his life living and working in the Third District. He earned two bachelor’s degrees and a law degree from Penn as well as master’s degrees from Oxford and Harvard. Richter and his wife Michelle, who have been married for 20 years, are the parents of four teenage daughters.
