TOMS RIVER, NJ – October 15, 2020 – David Richter, the Republican nominee for Congress in New Jersey’s Third District, announced today that he has received the endorsement of the State Troopers Fraternal Association of New Jersey (STFA). Richter is one of just seven candidates statewide to have been endorsed by the STFA.
The STFA represents over 1700 rank and file New Jersey state troopers. In a statement announcing its endorsements, the leadership of STFA said, “We recognize that our nation is at a crossroads on so many important issues. These candidates represent the needed leadership and we are certain will provide the utmost support for the men and women of the STFA. Most important, we believe they will work tirelessly to provide a positive byproduct on policy making and initiatives to ensure public trust in police while balancing the needs of our membership.”
“I would like to thank President Wayne Blanchard and the entire STFA leadership team for their support. I always have and always will support our law enforcement community and the STFA’s endorsement recognizes that commitment,” said Richter.
In August, Richter was also endorsed by the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association.
Richter is the former CEO of global construction management firm Hill International. During his time at the company, Hill grew from a struggling family business with less than 300 employees into a successful public company with more than 4,300 employees. A lifelong Republican, Richter grew up in and has spent most of his life living and working in the Third District. He earned two bachelor’s degrees and a law degree from Penn as well as master’s degrees from Oxford and Harvard. Richter and his wife Michelle, who have been married for 20 years, are the parents of four teenage daughters.
